On the day the transfer is scheduled, the embryo to be transferred is thawed with patient consent. Generally, an appointment is scheduled 6-7 hours after the thawing process. The embryo is then transferred to the uterus without anesthesia as the procedure is painless. Bed rest is not recommended afterward.
